Across the lake. At the heart of everything.

Swedish heritage, seasonal cooking, and more than a century of stories shared around the table.

Fire, Forest, Table

Fire, forest and a table worth crossing the water for.

Eld & Björk has welcomed guests to the opposite shore of Bjorkholm Lake since 1906. Originally created by the founders of Bjorkholm Estate, it began as a gathering place for estate visitors, local families, fishermen, travelers and tradespeople. More than a century later, it remains a place where Swedish heritage, seasonal cooking and community meet around the same table.

“Come for the history. Stay because you feel at home.”

The Cellar

Beneath the dining room, another story waits.

Built into the hillside beneath the original dining room, The Cellar once stored wine, smoked fish, preserves and winter provisions for the restaurant and estate. Today, its original stone walls and timber ceiling surround an intimate bar serving old-world wines, Scandinavian spirits, seasonal cocktails and shared plates.

Meet Forever Still

The keeper of Eld & Björk.

Forever Still became the keeper of Eld & Björk after first falling in love with it as a guest. Drawn to its history, warmth, and place within the community, she took ownership with one guiding belief: the restaurant did not need to be reinvented — it needed to be protected and allowed to evolve.

Today, she preserves the traditions that have defined Eld & Björk since 1906 while welcoming new flavors, new stories, and new generations to its tables.

“History should not be preserved by standing still. It survives because someone cares enough to carry it forward.”
